A Shout-Out to Sheep

Visitors to Navab Brothers Outlet at our American Rug Laundry Lake Street location now will receive a very wooly welcome at the entrance to the rug showroom. A life-sized toy sheep (as yet unnamed) has taken up residence in our store to celebrate the sustainability and beauty of wool: the world’s greenest fiber. And with the exception of a few silk beauties, practically every one of the hundreds of handmade rugs in our stock boasts a 100% wool pile. Many also have a wool foundation.

• Wool is infinitely renewable, with a new crop beginning the moment shearing is complete.
• Most sheep are pastured and graze on native grasses, not fed processed feed in feedlots.
• Wool is extremely durable, stain-resistant, and cleans up easily with natural detergents.
• A well-cared-for handmade wool rug is an heirloom that can be passed along for generations.
